We are located in the Khari Baoli area, specifically at Katra Maidgran. Our office is on the first floor, room 409. If you know Delhi, you know how busy Khari Baoli is. It’s the biggest spice market around, and the air is always thick with the smell of chillies and cardamom. Getting to our office involves navigating through very narrow lanes that are usually blocked by people carrying heavy sacks. The building itself is quite old and has that classic market feel to it. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze. Our space is filled with samples and old files that go back years. We do a lot of overseas trading, so there is constant talk about container prices and shipping dates. It gets very loud during the peak market hours, so you have to raise your voice just to be heard over the phone. We don't have much room for a fancy reception or anything like that. People just walk in and we talk across the desks. Sometimes we sit on the floor if we are sorting through a new batch of samples. It’s a very hands-on way of doing business. The electricity can be a bit temperamental sometimes, but we just keep going. It’s a lot of hard work in a very crowded part of the city, but it’s where all the action is for our trade.
