Punjab Fruits Factory

Our place, Punjab Fruits Factory, is located on Khari Baoli Main Road, which is always a bit of a mess with all the rickshaws and big trucks blocking the way. We are at 6676, and honestly, finding a parking spot anywhere near us is basically impossible most of the time. We spend the majority of our mornings unloading heavy crates and checking to see if anything got bruised during the long trip here. It is a lot of physical work and my back usually starts hurting by noon. We don’t have a big corporate office or a team of people in suits. It’s just us and a few local helpers moving boxes of fruit around in the heat. Sometimes the fruit looks great, and other times it’s just okay, so we have to spend hours sorting through everything to make sure it’s decent enough to sell. The smell in the shop is a strange mix of ripe mangoes and exhaust fumes from the street outside. We keep our records in a ledger on a wooden table that has seen much better days. Customers come in and haggle over every rupee, and we just try to get a fair price so we can keep the lights on for another month. It’s not a factory in the way most people think, but more like a busy hub where things come in and go out very fast. It’s a simple, tiring life.
