If you’ve ever been to Kharibaoli, you know how crowded and hectic it can get. Our business, Natural Agro Products, is tucked away in the S.V. Market at Sewaram Jagdishchander. Specifically, we are in the Katra Tobacco section. It’s a very old part of the city, and the streets are narrow, so getting goods in and out is always a bit of a challenge. We deal with all sorts of agricultural items. The smells in this area are a mix of everything—spices, tobacco, and dried goods. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot into it. We spend our days talking to farmers and wholesalers who come through the market. There’s a lot of shouting and haggling going on outside our door every single day. That’s just the nature of Khari Baoli. We’ve been operating from this same spot for quite a while, and the walls are stained with the age of the building. We don’t have fancy desks or computers for everyone; it’s mostly hand-written bills and heavy sacks of grain or seeds. The guys who work here are used to the heavy lifting. We start early, before the sun is even fully up, to beat some of the heat and the heaviest crowds. It’s a tough environment, but it’s where the trade happens. We just provide the agro products people need and try to keep things simple. It is a loud place but it's home.
