National Glass Plastic Industries

You can find us at National Glass Plastic Industries on the 2Nd Floor of the Multani Building on Quatab Road. Sadar Bazar is an incredibly crowded place, so getting up to our floor is always a bit of a challenge through the narrow stairs. We have stacks of glass bottles and plastic containers everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze in here. We spend our time counting out stock, checking for cracks, and packing things into cardboard boxes for the wholesalers. The dust from the street comes in through the windows, so we are always wiping things down. It’s a busy atmosphere with people shouting from the street and the constant sound of rickshaw horns. We handle all sorts of jars and vials. Sometimes a crate breaks, and we have to spend the afternoon cleaning up shards, which is a pain. We’ve been in this building for quite a while, and the walls show it. It’s not a modern showroom; it’s a working warehouse. We have a small desk near the door where we handle the bills and the phone calls. Most of our day is spent moving boxes from one pile to another. It's a lot of lifting and bending. We close the shutters late in the evening when the market finally starts to quiet down. The lights in the hallway don't always work, so we keep a torch handy for when we leave late.
