Munni Lal & Brothers

You can find Munni Lal & Brothers over at 3723 Roshanara Road. We are tucked into Street Kumharan, which is right near the old Palace Cinema. It’s a crowded neighborhood, but we’ve been here so long that we don’t even notice the noise anymore. The shop is small and filled with stuff from floor to ceiling. It can be hard to move around sometimes, especially when a new delivery arrives. We have been doing this for a long time, and the building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. There is always someone coming in to ask for something or just to say hello. Roshanara Road is a landmark around here, so most people don't have trouble finding us once they get to the cinema. We don't use a lot of fancy technology. Mostly, we rely on our ledgers and our memory of where everything is kept. It’s an old-fashioned way of working, but it has served us well. The street can get muddy during the monsoon, and the walk from the main road is sometimes a bit of a struggle, but we are here every day regardless. We are just a family business, really. My brothers and I have spent most of our lives in this shop. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life, and we are proud to be part of Street Kumharan. We keep the shutters open until late evening most days.
