Kuts N Kandy

Kuts N Kandy is located in the basement of B 39 in Derawal Nagar. We are pretty close to Model Town, so it’s easy for people to find us even though we are below street level. You have to come down the stairs to get into the shop. Because we are in a basement, it has a different feel than the shops upstairs. It’s a bit more tucked away from the sun and the street noise. We’ve got the salon set up with the usual chairs and mirrors, and we do a lot of haircuts and styling here. The name is a bit catchy, but the work we do is just standard salon stuff that people need every few weeks. We spend the day cutting, washing hair, and keeping the place running. Sometimes it gets a bit cool down here, which is nice when it’s hot outside in Delhi. We have a small area for people to wait and we usually have some magazines or the radio playing quietly. It’s a local business, so we see the same faces from Derawal Nagar quite often. We don't go in for any big marketing tricks or fancy talk. We just show up, open the door, and get to work on whatever needs doing. The floor is tile, so it’s easy to sweep up the hair, which is good because we go through a lot of cuts in a single day. It’s a steady pace of work and we like it here.
