Our place is right in the middle of Old Lajpat Rai Market, specifically in the Central Market area. It is a crowded spot, but we like the energy of it. K G B Foods has been running from here for quite some time now. If you come by, you’ll likely smell whatever we are moving or packing that day. It is a bit cramped inside because we have sacks and boxes everywhere, but we know where everything is kept. We deal with food supplies, mostly the basic stuff that people and kitchens need every day. The floors are old and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend our time on the orders instead. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow market lanes, which makes for a long morning of waiting and shouting across the street. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that here. You just walk in and talk to whoever is standing near the front door. We’ve known most of the other shopkeepers around here for years. It’s a community. We just handle the food part of it. Some days are slow and we sit around talking about the weather, but most days we are just trying to get the bags loaded and sent out on time. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from early morning until the sun goes down over the market roof.
