J M Engineers is located at 1168 Sadar Bazar, right on Bahadur Garh Road. If you know the area, you know how loud it gets with all the traffic and the carts going by. We’ve got our workspace set up here and it stays busy from morning until we close up at night. There is always something that needs fixing or a part that needs to be found. The floors are often a bit dusty because of the road outside. We don't mind it much. My father started things here years ago and not much has changed in terms of the layout. We have our tools and our benches. Sometimes people bring in things that are decades old and we have to figure out how they were put together. It’s honest work. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused. The neighbors are mostly other shops doing similar things. We share tools sometimes if someone is in a bind. The space is a bit tight with all the machinery, but we make it work. It’s not a showroom. It’s a place where we actually do the labor. The lights flicker occasionally when the heavy machines next door start up. That’s just the character of Sadar Bazar. We stay until the job is finished for the day. It’s just how we operate. There is always a pile of metal scraps in the corner waiting for the scrap collector to come by.
