Gem-Tech Engineering

Down on Athipalayam Road, you'll find Gem-Tech Engineering. We're right at 1-C/3, which is close to the old Gopalakrishna Mills in Ganapathy. It’s an industrial sort of area and we fit right in. There’s always the sound of machines or someone moving things around in the yard. We’ve been operating out of Chinnavedampatti for quite some time now. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s where the work gets finished. Most of the guys here live nearby so we have a good little group. We don’t have a big shiny sign or a lobby with coffee. It’s mostly just tools, workbenches, and the projects we’re currently fixing or building. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy, but we keep the shop running regardless. People know us by word of mouth mostly. If you go past the mills, you're pretty much there. We handle the day-to-day stuff as it comes in. It’s a lot of grease and metal work. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. It’s just a place of work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. We like it that way. It keeps things predictable and we can just get on with it without any fuss. It’s a lot of sweat and hard work every single day, really. We just show up and do it until the machines stop.
