Harbans Lal Foods Pvt Ltd is located at 632/4 in Khali Bawali, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. If you know this area, you know it is never quiet. There are carts and people and noise everywhere. Our building is old and the walls are thick, but the sound of the market still gets in. We spend most of our time dealing with food supplies. It is heavy work, lifting bags and making sure nothing gets damp. We have a small office tucked in the back where the paperwork happens, but most of us are out on the floor. The lighting isn't great, but we know every inch of the place. We’ve got a couple of old desks and a lot of wooden pallets. We don't have a website that looks like a magazine. We just do our business face to face or over the phone. Sometimes the power goes out and we just use flashlights to finish up. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of goods. We just stay in our own space and do our work. We are just a food business in a very old part of the city. People come to us because we have been here at 632/4 for a long time. It’s just the daily grind of moving food from one place to another in the middle of a crowd.
