Gupta Brothers

We’ve been here at 1727/206 in the Rittco Rice Palace part of Chandni Chowk for quite a while now. It gets really crowded in this lane, especially during the mornings when the trucks are unloading the rice sacks. We usually open up early to make sure everything is ready before the main rush starts. Most of the people around here know us as just the Gupta family shop. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside with all the bags stacked up to the ceiling, but we manage. My brother and I handle most of the daily work ourselves, from checking the stock to talking with the regulars who come by every week. Sometimes the power goes out or the traffic outside makes it hard to hear anything, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don't have any fancy displays or a big office. It’s just the grains and the old wooden desk where we keep the ledger. People come here because they know where to find us. We keep things simple because that is what works. Most days are long and tiring, but seeing the same faces year after year makes it feel okay. We’ve seen the market change a lot over the years, but our spot in Chandni Chowk stays pretty much the same. It’s dusty and noisy, but it’s where we belong.
