Working at Office No. C-452 in the DSIIDC Industrial Complex in Narela is a different kind of life compared to the city center. Goyal Dal Products Pvt. Ltd. is surrounded by other big factories and noisy warehouses. It’s a very dusty place, especially when the wind picks up across the open spaces. There’s always the sound of trucks reversing or machinery humming in the background of everything we do. My job involves a lot of quality checks on the different pulses coming in from the farms. We see tons of dal passing through here every single week. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving pallets around with those manual jacks. The office itself is quite plain, just some simple desks and a few old filing cabinets that don't close right. I spend a lot of time on the phone with various wholesalers. Sometimes the shipments are delayed at the border or the quality isn't what was promised, and then I have to figure out a solution quickly. It’s a lot of problem-solving on the fly. We don't have any fancy signs or decorations in the office. It’s just a practical workspace for a practical business. Lunch is usually eaten quickly at the desk because there’s always another truck waiting to be unloaded at the gate. By the end of the shift, my boots are covered in grain dust and I’m ready to head home.
