Gopal Jee

Our place is at 474, Main Road, right in the thick of Khari Baoli. If you know the area, you know it’s one of the busiest streets you can find. Gopal Jee has been operating from this spot, and it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a shop on the main road here. It’s noisy outside from morning until late at night. We deal with all sorts of items, mostly whatever is in demand in the market at the time. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack things high up to the ceiling sometimes. It’s a bit of a juggle to find things when it gets really busy. We don’t have a website with bells and whistles or a big marketing budget. We just open the doors and get to work. Dealing with the heat in the summer can be tough since the shop opens right onto the street, but we’re used to it by now. We see a lot of faces every day, from delivery guys to local buyers. Sometimes the accounts take longer than they should because we’re still doing things the old way mostly. It’s just how we’ve always done it. There’s no big corporate philosophy here, just the daily routine of buying, selling, and making sure the shop stays running. It’s simple, and it keeps us busy enough. We just focus on the orders we have in front of us and take it one day at a time. It’s just the way things go for a small business on a main road.
