Goodluck Traders

If you’ve ever walked through Khari Baoli, you know how loud and crowded it gets. We are right in the middle of it at 40/3 Om Market, inside Katra Ishwar Bhawan. Goodluck Traders has been here for a good bit of time. It’s not a polished showroom or anything like that. It’s a shop filled with bags and boxes, and the air always smells like spices and dry goods because of where we are located. Most days start early, before the sun is even fully up, getting the shutters open and checking what came in overnight. The lanes are narrow, so getting stock in and out is always a bit of a struggle with the handcarts and people pushing past. We talk to a lot of different people every day. Some are regulars who have been coming to this part of Delhi for decades, and others are just passing through. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements. Most of our work comes from people just knowing where we are. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but there’s never really a quiet moment to get it done. We just keep busy with the orders. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving things, and keeping track of everything in our ledgers. It’s honest work in a very old part of the city, and we just keep at it day after day. It’s often dusty and loud, but it’s our daily life and we're used to the chaos.
