We've been at 215 Katra Peran for quite a long time now. It’s right in the middle of Tilak Bazar. My father and grandfather worked here before me. It gets very crowded in the lanes during the day. We mostly deal with the regular customers who have been coming to us for decades. Sometimes the inventory piles up near the door, but we manage. People know where to find us. It's not a fancy office or anything. Just some desks, a lot of ledger books, and the smell of the market outside. We open early in the morning, usually around ten, once the tea stalls nearby start their business. The walls could use a new coat of paint, honestly. But the work keeps us busy enough that we don't think about it much. Most of our days are spent talking to suppliers or checking the stock that comes in from the trucks. We don't really do much advertising. If you walk down the lane, you'll see the sign. It’s a bit faded. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the bills are settled. My son helps out sometimes too, learning how things move. It is a noisy place with all the carts going by, but it feels like home to us after all these years. We've seen the market change quite a bit, but our spot stays the same. The fans hum all day to keep us cool, and we usually close up when the streetlights come on.
