Devendra Kumar & Comp. is located at 2064/12, Katra Tobacco in Khari Baoli. If you know Delhi, you know this is the old heart of the city. The lanes are so narrow that you can barely walk through them when the sun is up and the crowds are out. Our building is old, really old. It has those high ceilings and thick walls that keep the heat out a little bit during the summer. This area is famous for tobacco and spices, and you can feel that history in every brick. Working here is different from working in a modern office building. Everything is a bit slower but also more intense in its own way. We deal with people face-to-face a lot. There is a lot of tradition in how we do things. We do not have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. Our reputation is just based on being here and doing the work year after year. The office is usually a bit dark, lit by a few old bulbs, and filled with the sound of the street outside. We sit on old wooden chairs and use desks that have been around for a long time. It is a very honest way to do business. We are not trying to be something we are not. We just provide what we provide from this little corner of Khari Baoli. It is a tough place to work sometimes, but it is home.
