Deepak Traders

Deepak Traders is located up on the first floor at 5836/32 in Basti Harphool Singh. Getting up those stairs can be a bit of a workout if you’re carrying anything heavy, but we’ve done it so many times now it doesn't even bother us. The area is always crowded, which is just how it is in this part of Delhi. You hear the voices from the shops below all day long. Our office isn't very big, and we have boxes stacked up in the corners because there never seems to be enough space. We’ve been working out of this spot for years. The windows let in some light, but mostly we rely on the overhead tubes. It gets quite warm in the summer months, so the cooler is always running. We know most of the people in the building. It’s a tight-knit community here in Basti Harphool Singh. Sometimes the delivery guys struggle to find the exact door since the numbering around here is a bit confusing to outsiders. We just tell them to look for the narrow staircase next to the tea stall. Life here is fast and a bit messy, but it works for us. We spend most of our time on the phone or writing out bills. It’s a simple operation, nothing too complicated. We just try to keep things moving and stay on top of the daily grind and the paperwork.
