Chhotey Lal Nanak Chand

Our shop is at Plot No.446 in Shish Mahal Gali. If you’re taking the metro, just get off at Chawri Bazar and walk towards Bazar Sita Ram. It’s a very old part of the city, so the lanes are skinny and the buildings are packed together. We have been operating under the name Chhotey Lal Nanak Chand for quite some time now. It’s a family thing, passed down through the years. The shop itself is small, with shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling. We keep everything from small parts to heavy items stacked up in there. You have to know exactly where everything is or you’ll never find it. The bells from the nearby temples and the calls of the street vendors are our background music all day. It’s crowded, especially in the afternoons when the shoppers come out in full force. We don’t use computers for much, mostly just keeping books by hand and talking to people face to face. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the front, so we have to move the stock back. It’s just how these old buildings are. We know the other shopkeepers around here well, and we often have tea together when business is slow. It’s a busy life in the bazar, but we wouldn’t really know what else to do with ourselves if we weren't here. It's just what we do every single day.
