Shukla Pan Palace

You can find Shukla Pan Palace at No.-1127 in Chatta Madan Gopal, right in the heart of Chandni Chowk. This area is always crowded and noisy, but that’s just how it is in this part of Delhi. Our shop is quite small, just a little nook really, where we keep all the leaves, betel nuts, and different spices. We have been here for a long time, watching the crowds go by every single day. Making a good pan is something we take seriously, even if it looks like we are just folding leaves quickly to a stranger. We have our regulars who come by at the same time every evening for their usual order and a bit of a chat. It is a lot of standing around and talking to people while we work. The smell of the gulkand and the lime is always in the air around our counter. We don't have a fancy sign or anything, just a spot that people know by word of mouth. Sometimes it gets so busy that people have to wait on the narrow street, but nobody seems to mind much. We keep our ingredients fresh and try to keep the place as clean as possible in such a dusty, old area. It is a simple life, being part of the fabric of Chandni Chowk. We see all sorts of people, from tourists who are lost to locals who have lived here their whole lives.
