If you ever find yourself in Sadar Bazar, you’ll know how hectic it is. Our shop, Batra Utencils Store, is at 11/4764 Deputy Ganj. This whole area is famous for metal and kitchenware, so we fit right in. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with all kinds of utensils. We have brass, steel, and aluminum things everywhere. It can be a bit overwhelming for someone who isn't used to it. There isn't much room to move around once a few customers are inside. We’ve been in Deputy Ganj for a long time, and we’ve seen the market change over the years. Even though it’s loud and crowded outside, we have a rhythm to how we work. We spend our days climbing ladders to get items down for people or counting stock that just arrived. The air is always full of the sound of metal clinking together. It’s a family-run kind of place, so there’s no corporate talk here. We just tell people the price and show them the quality of the pots and pans. Lunch usually happens right there at the counter between customers. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We don’t have a website or anything fancy; people just know we are here in Sadar Bazar when they need something for their kitchen. It’s just how things work in this market.
