Ashraf Iqbal

You can find us over at Lajpat Rai Market on Street 2519. If you have ever been to this part of town, you know it’s a total scramble of people and carts and goods everywhere. Ashraf Iqbal is just our name on the shop here. We’ve been operating out of this spot for years, and the walls have seen a lot of history. It’s crowded and the air is always full of noise from the market, but that’s how we like it. We sell what we have and try to be fair with everyone who walks through the door. The shop isn't big, so we have to stack things up to the ceiling sometimes to make room for new stock. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at once. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, just us and the inventory. Most of our day is spent talking to customers and checking what needs to be ordered next. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit in the dark for a bit and chat with the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s a real community here in the market. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just open the shutters, put out the goods, and see who the day brings in. Street 2519 is our home and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. It’s just honest work in a busy place.
