This is Ramakrishna Jute Industry. We are located over at C O S C Mohanty, Po Sukchar, in the Rajabastee area of Kolkata. If you know the 700115 zip code, you know it's a place with a lot of history. Working with jute isn't the cleanest job in the world. There is always dust in the air and the machines make a lot of noise. We’ve been at this location for a lot of years. It’s a family thing mostly. We get the raw materials in and we process them as best as we can with the equipment we have. It’s not a modern factory with robots or anything. It's mostly just hard work and long hours. The Sukchar area is where we live and breathe. Most of the people working here are from just down the road. We don't have a marketing department. If people need jute products, they usually just know where to find us. The Rajabastee neighborhood is crowded, but it’s home. We deal with the power cuts and the heat just like everyone else around here. It’s a messy business, but it keeps us busy. We don't make any big promises. We just show up every morning and get to work. That is how it has always been for us at Ramakrishna Jute Industry. We have some old trucks for deliveries that break down sometimes, but we always find a way to get the bundles where they need to go.
