Our place is located in Basirhat, in the North 24 Parganas district. We are in the village area near the post office. It is a rural setting, so life moves at a different pace than it does in the big cities like Mumbai or Delhi. Priyo Bandhu Com is something we started to stay connected with the local people and offer some basic services. We have a small room with a couple of computers and some wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait. The internet connection can be a bit spotty when it rains, which happens a lot around here during the monsoon season. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks who come in from the surrounding villages to ask for help with one thing or another. It gets quite humid, so we keep the door open to let the breeze in. It is just a local spot.
