Our office is located in Barrackpore, which is a bit of a distance from the main hub of Kolkata. We are over on Karunamayee Road, at number 162, staying with Basudeb Pal. It is a quiet enough area near the Talpukur post office. The 24 Parganas district has a very different feel than the city center, and we like that. It’s more relaxed here. We do research work, so having a place that isn't too loud is actually quite helpful for us. The building is an older style, typical for this part of West Bengal. We don’t have a big sign or anything like that. It’s more of a local setup. We have our files, our computers, and our notes spread out across the tables. Most days are spent looking through data or making phone calls. We know the people at the post office by name since we are there so often. It’s a very human way to work. We aren't some big anonymous corporation. We are just a small team in Barrackpore trying to find the information we need. Sometimes we sit and have tea and talk about the day before getting back to it. It’s practical and honest work. We have been here for a while and don't see any reason to move.
