Cmc Limited

Cmc Limited is situated in Brojeswari Bhawan, which is near Badra Tinpukur in the Italgacha area of Kolkata. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned building, which gives it some character compared to the new glass towers you see popping up. We are located near the post office, so getting mail in and out is pretty easy. The area around 700079 is quite traditional, and you can see people gathering near the pond in the evenings. Inside our office, things are kept simple. We have wooden desks that have been around for years and a few filing cabinets that are packed tight. It’s often quite warm, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze we can get. The sound of the street life filtered through the windows is just the background music to our day. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees; we are just a small group working together. Every morning starts with a quick check of what needs to be done, and then we just get to it. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone knocks, whoever is closest to the door goes to answer it. It’s a very hands-on way of running things. We appreciate the history of this part of West Bengal and like being based in such a lived-in neighborhood. It’s a straightforward place for straightforward work, and we like it that way. It feels real and grounded.
