Uttrakhand Tent & Light House

Our shop is located in the Sector 12 O Block Market, right at number 14. We do both tents and lighting, so our place is always cluttered with bundles of wires and folded-up carpets. It is a bit of a squeeze to get inside sometimes because we have so much equipment packed in there. We have been in this part of the market for a long time and everyone around here knows us. The lights are my favorite part, we have all these colored bulbs and strings that we have to check one by one to make sure they still work. If a bulb is out, we sit on the stools and replace it manually. My cousins help me out with the heavy lifting when we have a big job. The market here is always lively, so there is usually someone stopping by to ask about prices or just to chat. We don't really have a front office, it is more like a workspace where we fix the light fixtures and mend any tears in the tent fabric. It gets very busy during the festival months and we are constantly moving stuff in and out. Sometimes the truck is late or the traffic in Sector 12 is bad, but we usually manage to get things set up. It is a simple life of working with our hands and making sure the lights turn on when they are supposed to. We just keep at it.
