Up in Sector No. 12, we have this place called The Gleam Of Colours. It is basically a spot where we handle all sorts of pigments and materials. The name sounds a bit much, but it is just a regular workspace where things can get quite messy if we aren't careful. We have buckets and tins lined up against the walls, and there is always a faint smell of thinner or wet paint in the air. Most of our day is spent mixing things or checking the inventory to see what we are running low on. It is not a very large operation, just a few of us making sure things get done. The neighborhood is mostly residential and other small shops, so it feels pretty familiar to everyone around here. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy like that. People usually find us because they live nearby or heard about the shop from someone else. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed while we work through the orders. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool for a bit when it gets too stuffy inside. It is a lot of manual work, moving heavy containers and making sure the lids are on tight. We just keep at it until it is time to lock up and head home for the night.
