Sandy Artist is basically just me and a couple of helpers working out of 16 Lakshmi Nagar. I started this because I always liked drawing on things. Now, people come in for all sorts of stuff, mostly sketches or painting work they want done for their homes. It’s a small space, so it gets pretty crowded with canvases and brushes everywhere. Sometimes the floor is covered in paint splashes, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy. We’ve been here in Lakshmi Nagar for a while now. Most people find us because they live nearby and saw the sign. It’s not a fancy gallery or anything like that. Just a room where we get work done. I usually spend my mornings getting the colors ready. If you walk past, you’ll probably see me sitting by the window because the light is better there. We don't really have a set routine, we just take the projects as they come in. Some days it’s really quiet and I just work on one piece for hours. Other days, three or four people drop by at once and it gets a bit chaotic. I like the neighborhood though. It’s got a good vibe and the tea stall nearby is where I spend most of my breaks. It's just a simple art shop. We don’t try to make it something it’s not. Just brushes, paint, and a lot of time spent trying to get things to look right. It’s a quiet life, mostly.
