M.K. ENterprises & Repairing Centre

Sharma Market in Sector 22 is a good place to be, even if it gets a bit crowded on the weekends when everyone is out. Our shop, M.K. Enterprises, is where we spend most of our waking hours. The workbench is the main part of the shop, covered in soldering irons, screwdrivers, and bits of wire that we use for repairs. We take in all kinds of things that need fixing, not just mobiles but other small electronics that people bring in. The shelves are filled with items waiting to be picked up, and some have been sitting there for weeks because people forget. We have an old ceiling fan that makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving during the hot Noida afternoons. People from the nearby apartments come in with broken heaters or burnt-out power adapters. We don't always have the parts right away, so there’s a lot of calling around to other shops to see who has what in stock. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful where we step so we don't trip over a bag or a box of supplies. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep our energy up. There isn't a lot of talking unless it’s about the work itself or how long a repair will take. We like the neighborhood and the people who live here; they are mostly hardworking folks.
