Working out of Sector 56 in the A Block Market is always busy. Our shop at number 13 is quite small, so it gets crowded when more than three people stand inside. Most of the day is just me or the boys sitting behind the glass counter fixing broken screens. People come in mostly for recharges or because they dropped their phone in water. It’s a lot of tiny screws and parts that you can barely see. We have a small stool in the corner for customers, but usually they just stand and watch us work. The market outside is always loud with people shouting and bikes zooming past. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use the little inverter just to keep the soldering iron hot. We keep a stock of covers and screen guards on the wall, but they get dusty fast because of all the construction nearby. It isn't a high-end showroom or anything. It's just a place where you can get your phone sorted while you wait. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the other shopkeepers by name. We share tea in the evenings when things slow down a bit. Dealing with cables and batteries all day is tiring for the eyes, but it’s what we do. It's a decent way to spend the day, even if the space is a bit cramped and the floor needs a sweep every hour.
