Down in the Phase II Main Market at Nangla Charandas, that's where you'll find Dev Telecom. It's a busy part of G B Nagar. The market is always crowded with people buying groceries or looking for hardware. Our shop is tucked in there among the rest. We sell phones, covers, and handle recharges. The front glass is often covered in posters for the latest data plans. It's a bit cramped inside when more than three people come in at once. We usually have the radio playing in the background. Dealing with SIM cards and porting numbers takes up most of our morning. In the afternoon, it’s mostly people coming in because they dropped their phone or the battery isn't holding a charge. We tell it like it is. If a phone can't be fixed, we say so. The floor gets a lot of mud from the street when it rains. We try to keep it tidy but it's hard with the foot traffic. We know most of the regulars by name now. They stop by to ask about new gadgets or just to vent about their slow internet. We don't have a fancy uniforms or anything. Just us in our regular clothes, working through the pile of repairs on the desk. It’s a honest way to spend the day in a busy market like this. We just keep moving and doing the work that comes in.
