The mill is situated in the Lower Bazaar area of Modinagar. M. R. Oil Mills (P) Lmited has been part of this neighborhood for quite some time now. You can hear the sound of the machinery from the street when you walk by. The building is an old one, with thick walls and high ceilings that help keep the place a bit cooler in the summer. Lower Bazaar is always crowded with people shopping for their daily needs, so there is plenty of activity outside our doors. Inside, the floors are often a bit slippery, which is just the nature of the work we do here. We have big vats and pipes running along the walls. It is not a modern, glass-and-steel kind of factory. It feels more like a traditional workplace where things are done the old-fashioned way. The staff has been with us for years, and they know every sound the machines make. We spend our days monitoring the levels and making sure the containers are filled properly. The smell of the oil is everywhere, but we don't even notice it anymore. People come in from the bazaar to pick up their orders or just to check on things. We keep our records in big bound books and try to stay on top of the maintenance. It is a busy life in Modinagar, but we like being right in the middle of the action. We've seen many changes on this street.
