Our place, Laser Tech, is at W-51 in Sector-11. It’s a pretty standard industrial plot. We focus on laser cutting, which means we have some large, heavy machines that take up most of our floor space. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about how we stack the metal sheets and the finished pieces. It’s a noisy environment when the cutters are running, and there’s a certain smell of burnt metal that stays in your clothes. We’ve been in Sector-11 for a good while now, and we know most of the people running the shops nearby. It’s a tight-knit community of workers. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably find us right there by the machines or at the small table we use for drawings. We aren't into fancy talk or corporate polished language. We just look at the specs you bring in and tell you if we can do it. Sometimes the machines need a lot of maintenance, which can slow things down, but we do our own repairs most of the time. It’s a hands-on business. We wear old work shirts and heavy boots every day. We aren't trying to impress anyone; we just want to do the cutting work accurately and get it out the door. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in the sector.
