Kamal Foarm Sofa Repairing

Our little shop, Kamal Foarm Sofa Repairing, is located over in Dhaula Kuan at 13, 2nd Floor in Satya Niketan. It’s right across from Vankey College, so we see a lot of students walking by every single day. Being on the second floor means we have to carry materials up and down the stairs, which is quite a workout, especially with those heavy foam rolls or old wooden sofa frames. The space is usually full of fabric scraps and pieces of cushioning. It’s definitely not a showroom. It’s more of a workshop where we sit on the floor or on small stools to get the work done. Sometimes the dust from the old foam gets everywhere, so we keep the windows open to get some air from the main road. The traffic noise from Dhaula Kuan is always there in the background, like a constant hum. We’ve been doing this for a long time, fixing up seats that have seen better days. It's dusty work and your hands get tired from all the pulling and stapling. Most of the people who come by are just locals from the neighborhood or someone who heard about us from a friend. We usually have a radio playing in the corner to keep things moving. It's just a regular day-to-day business where we focus on one chair or one sofa at a time until it's finished and ready to go back to someone's living room.
