If you come down to B Block and look for Plot No 14, you’ll find us at G D Foods Mfg I Pvt Ltd. The first thing you notice is usually the smell, which depends on what we are making that day. Some days it is quite nice and other days it’s just overwhelming. We have a lot of people working here, mostly in shifts, so there is always someone coming or going. The floor is always being scrubbed because food production means you have to stay on top of the mess. We all wear these hairnets and aprons, which aren't the most stylish things, but they are part of the uniform. Plot No 14 is a large space, but it fills up fast when the pallets of raw ingredients arrive. There is a lot of noise from the packaging lines—clinking and humming all day long. We don't have much of an "About Us" story other than we’ve been here in B Block for years and we know how to run a production line. Most of the staff have lunch together in the common area, and that’s where you hear all the real news about the neighborhood. We aren't trying to be a giant global corporation; we’re just a local food plant trying to keep the quality where it needs to be. It’s a lot of repetition, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing the boxes stacked up ready to go.
