Anuj Crocery Kitchen Centre

Our place, Anuj Crocery Kitchen Centre, is located right on the Surajpur Dadri Road in Gautam Budh Nagar. It’s a noisy spot because of all the trucks and buses going past all day long. We have shelves filled with all kinds of things for the kitchen, from stainless steel pots and pans to plastic containers and glass sets. A lot of the stuff is stacked quite high, so we have to use a small ladder to reach the top items when a customer wants to see something. We spend a lot of time wiping down the plates and the cookers because the road dust covers everything so fast. People come in looking for specific things, like a new whistle for their pressure cooker or a tiffin box for their kids. The shop has a lot of metal shining under the tube lights, which makes it feel very bright inside. We usually have a lot of cardboard boxes piled up in the corner from the new stock that arrives every week. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, trying to navigate between the stacks of buckets and the displays of spoons. We don't have a lot of help, so we do everything ourselves, from unloading the delivery trucks to wrapping up fragile items in old newspaper for the customers. It’s a steady job and we like seeing the same families coming back when they need something new for their homes.
