A S K Electronics is right in the middle of Harola 1, at Tulsi Market in Sector 5. If you know the area, you know how packed it gets. We have been here for a good while. Our shop is full of all sorts of things like wires, plugs, and old television sets waiting for parts. It looks a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we have our own system. Most of the day is spent fixing things that people bring in from the surrounding neighborhood. We see a lot of broken fans and mixers. Sometimes people bring in really old radios that are hard to find parts for. We do what we can with what we have. The shop doesn't have air conditioning, so we just keep the doors open and the ceiling fan on high. It’s a noisy spot with the street sounds coming in all day. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait for a quick fix. We don't use a computer for everything; we still write down most of our receipts by hand. It feels more real that way. Harola is a place where people work hard, and we try to match that energy. There’s always a cup of chai on the counter. We take our time to make sure the soldering is solid before handing a device back to the owner. It is just business.
