Vikram Agro Industries

Vikram Agro Industries is based in the Azadpur New Subzi Mandi, at spot A 1131. Azadpur is one of the biggest markets you will ever see, and being in block A means we are right in the thick of things. We handle large quantities of agro products that come in from the countryside. The days start very early for us, often while it is still dark outside. We have to talk with truck drivers and laborers to get the goods moved into our storage area. It is a very dusty environment and there is always something being moved or shifted. We wear heavy clothes that can handle the dirt and the work. Our office is just a small partitioned area with a table and a couple of chairs. We don’t have fancy technology, mostly just a mobile phone and some notebooks to keep track of the shipments. The smell of the mandi is a mix of fresh produce and diesel fumes from the trucks. It is a loud place where everyone is always in a hurry. We have been at A 1131 for several years and have seen the market change quite a bit. We don't do any advertising; our work comes from the people we have known in the trade for a long time. It is a tough life with long hours on your feet, but it is the business we know. We just focus on getting the agro products out to where they need to go.
