About Satra Agriculture Engineers – Agriculture & Farming in New Delhi
We’ve been at 36/37 in Gole Market, Connaught Place, for quite some time now. Dealing with farming tools and machinery parts is basically our life here. Most days are spent looking for specific bolts or explaining how a certain pump works to someone who drove in from the outskirts. It’s dusty and there is usually grease on most of the surfaces, but that is just how an engineering shop is. My father was the one who started this, and I just sort of fell into it after school. We keep a massive amount of stock in the back rooms, and honestly, sometimes it takes me a good ten minutes to find exactly what a customer needs. We do not have a fancy showroom with lights. It is just counters and heavy metal shelves. If we do not have a part for a tractor, we can usually figure out where to get it or find a way to make something else fit. The traffic outside in Connaught Place is always screaming, but inside we are just focused on the thread counts and the pipe sizes. It is a job that keeps your hands dirty all day. We open up early because people in agriculture do not wait for the sun to get high before they start working. It is just a regular shop doing mechanical things for the people who grow our food. There is not much more to it than that. I usually spend the evenings just sorting out the bins of screws.
