Veda Lounge & Bar

Operating a place like Veda Lounge & Bar on the Outer Circle of Connaught Place is a lot of work. Being at H 26 means we are right in the thick of things where all the tourists and locals end up eventually. The interior is designed to look a certain way with the lighting and the decor, but behind the scenes, it’s just us making sure the glasses are polished and the inventory is counted. It gets very busy on Friday and Saturday nights, and that’s when the place really feels different. During the day, it’s much quieter, and you can hear the hum of the air conditioning and the sound of the staff prepping for the evening shift. We spend a lot of time checking the bottles and making sure the seating areas are tidy. The floors are dark, so we have to stay on top of the cleaning so they don't look dusty. It’s a big space to manage, and sometimes things break or a lightbulb goes out and we have to scramble to fix it before the crowds arrive. We aren't trying to put on a show for ourselves; we’re just here to make sure the drinks are poured and people have a place to sit in CP. It’s a long day that usually ends well after midnight when the last of the customers have finally headed home. We just start all over again the next afternoon.
