Swastik Marbles

We are Swastik Marbles, located in the Divine Farms area of Chattarpur. This part of Delhi is known for stone and marble, so we have plenty of neighbors doing similar things. Our place is more like a large warehouse than a typical store. We have rows and rows of marble slabs leaning against the walls. It’s a big space, but it fills up fast when a new shipment comes in. Working in Chattarpur means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are just browsing, while others know exactly what kind of marble they need for their floors. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard with them. It can be quite a long walk because the slabs take up so much room. The air usually has that faint smell of wet stone, especially when we’re washing the slabs down to show the colors properly. We don't have any fancy marketing people or a corporate office. It’s just a family-run kind of feel, where we handle everything ourselves from unloading the trucks to talking to the customers. The traffic in and out of the farm area can be a bit much sometimes, but we’ve lived with it for years. We just focus on keeping the stock in good shape and being there when someone needs stone. It’s a steady job, and we’ve gotten pretty good at judging the quality of a piece just by looking at it. That's about all there is to it.
