Studio Architect

You can find us at N-99/A in Abul Fazal Enclave, over in the Jamia Nagar area of New Delhi. We’ve been set up here for a while, and it’s a good spot for us. It’s a small studio, nothing too fancy, just where we do our thinking and drawing. We work on a mix of things, from helping someone fix up their old house to planning out a new shop. It’s mostly just us sitting at our desks, working through the details of how a building should come together. We get a lot of people coming in with ideas that they saw online, and we have to figure out if those ideas will actually work with their budget and the space they have. Sometimes we have to tell them it’s not possible, which isn't always fun. We try to be direct and honest about what can be done. There’s always a lot of noise from the street, but we’ve gotten used to it. We use computers for most of the drawings now, but we still keep some pencils and paper around for when we need to just sketch something out quickly. It’s a bit of a juggling act sometimes, keeping track of different projects and making sure the builders have what they need. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep things moving.
