Aadhar Interiors

The morning starts early when we pull up the metal shutters. It’s often dusty in Gautam Nagar because of the construction nearby, so we spend the first ten minutes just wiping down the desks and samples. Aadhar Interiors is just a small outfit located at M-130. We are right by the Johar Motor Training College, so we see student drivers stalling their cars all day long outside our window. It’s actually quite funny to watch sometimes. We do cabinets, false ceilings, and general painting work for homes nearby. Most of our tools and extra materials are kept in the back room which is usually a bit of a mess. We don’t have a professional receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. Some people come in with pictures they found in magazines and we tell them honestly if it’s actually possible to do or just a waste of money. The tea guy comes around at eleven and four, and that's when work usually stops for a bit while we sit on the stools outside. We’ve been in this spot for years and know most of the people on this street. It’s not a corporate office with fancy air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a practical place where we get things built. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. People just find us because we've been around for a long time. We just try to do a decent job.
