V L Marble & Granite

You can find us at Plot No. 8 in the Singhola Marble Market, right near the Narela red light on the GT Karnal Road. Our yard is a large open space filled with massive slabs of marble and granite. It is a very physical place to work because everything is heavy and needs a crane or a lot of hands to move it around. Being so close to the highway means there is a constant stream of trucks and cars passing by, and the noise never really stops. We spend our days out in the yard, showing customers the different veins and colors in the stone slabs. Every piece of stone is different, so people like to spend a lot of time picking out the exact one they want for their house. The sun can be quite brutal in the afternoon, and the stone gets hot, but we stay busy regardless. We have to wash down the slabs frequently because the dust from the road covers everything in a fine grey layer. Our office is just a small room at the edge of the plot where we do the billing and keep our records. It is a simple life of stone and sweat. We’ve been here at this spot near the red light for years, and most of the local truck drivers and builders know us well. It isn't a glamorous job, but there is something satisfying about seeing a beautiful piece of granite go out to a new home.
