Shiv Shakti Marble & Granite

Our yard is at Plot No.36 in Dwarka Sector 20. It is pretty close to the Sector 9 Metro Station, so it is easy to get to even if you don't have a car. Being in Delhi means things move fast, but stone work is actually quite slow. We spend a lot of time just waiting for the right slabs to arrive from the Rajasthan border. The plot is mostly open air, so we are at the mercy of the heat and the rain. We carry a mix of marble and granite, mostly the stuff people use for their flats around here. It is a lot of heavy lifting and careful stacking. We have to be careful not to chip the edges when we move them around with the manual lifters. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the city. We just want to make sure the people living in the Dwarka sectors have a place to see the stone in person. Sometimes people come by after work, still in their office clothes, trying to pick out a countertop. It is funny to see the contrast between the dusty yard and their neat clothes. We keep a ledger for everything and try to stay organized, though it gets hectic when three trucks show up at once. It is just me and a couple of guys mostly. We have been here long enough that the neighbors know us by name and stop to chat.
