Our place is Shop No 3830 in Gali No 12, situated in Shanti Mohalla. If you know Gandhi Nagar, you know Shanti Mohalla is the place to be for anything related to textiles and cloth. The gali is narrow and always filled with the sound of sewing machines or people haggling over rolls of fabric. Our shop is one of many, but we’ve been at 3830 for quite some time now. It’s a compact space, mostly filled with whatever we’re currently moving, and there’s barely enough room for three people to stand comfortably at the front. We keep things simple. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit and a small area in the back for keeping our accounts. Every morning starts with the same routine of clearing the entrance and saying hello to the neighbor who sells buttons. We don't have a big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just us handling the daily tasks and making sure the orders are ready on time. The work is repetitive, but it’s honest. You see a lot of the same faces every week, which makes the days go by faster. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business steady in a market that never seems to sleep. It’s loud, dusty, and crowded, but it’s where we belong every day. I usually lock up around eight and head home to rest for the next morning.
