Anmol Holiday

Paharganj is a chaotic place to work, especially on Arakashan Road. Our office, Anmol Holiday, is right in the middle of it at number 8180. If you walk down Street Number 6, you’ll find us. It’s a small space filled with maps, old calendars, and phones that don’t seem to stop ringing. We spend most of our time looking at computer screens trying to find bus tickets or hotel rooms for people. It’s not glamorous. There’s always someone coming in asking about a train to Jaipur or a flight to somewhere else. The street outside is narrow and usually crowded with rickshaws and tourists. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back on. We know this neighborhood well. We’ve seen businesses come and go, but we’ve stayed here. It gets dusty because of the construction nearby. We don't have a fancy website with thousands of photos. Usually, we just talk to people face to face or over the phone. We try to keep track of all the bookings in big notebooks because computers can be unreliable sometimes. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. If you need to go somewhere, we just look up the prices and tell you. It’s straightforward work. We take our breaks when the street gets a little quieter, which isn't very often in this part of Paharganj.
