Our setup is down in the basement at D-5/4 in Okhla Industrial Area Phase II. If you have ever been to Okhla, you know it is packed with factories and trucks squeezed into every possible space. Working in a basement means we don't see much of the sun during the day, but it stays a bit cooler when the Delhi summer heat hits. We focus on ceilings, so we have stacks of panels and metal framing members taking up most of the floor space. It is a noisy neighborhood with the sound of machinery and loaders going all day. We spend our time checking the inventory and getting orders ready for construction sites across the city. The lanes outside are narrow, and it is always a bit of a challenge when the big delivery trucks come to pick up the materials. It is a hands-on job where we are always checking the quality of the ceiling tiles and making sure everything is counted correctly. The air in the industrial area can be quite heavy with smoke and dust, which is just part of being in a manufacturing hub. We aren't a fancy office with leather chairs, we are a working warehouse where the main goal is to get the products out on time. Most of us have been working in this area for years and we are used to the fast pace and the grit of Okhla.
