The Pusta road is always full of traffic, and the lanes are packed with shops and houses. Our spot is usually filled with the sound of the street and the clinking of stones being moved around. We have all sorts of stone varieties here. It’s a tough job because stones are heavy and the dust is constant, especially in the dry months. We don't have a big corporate office with fancy glass doors. It’s more of a practical space where we can store our stock and talk to the people who come by looking for materials for their homes. The guys here have been doing this for a while, so they know how to handle the material. We usually start early before the heat gets too bad, though in Delhi, that is easier said than done. We spend our time checking the slabs for cracks and making sure the orders are ready for the local builders. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. Sonia Vihar is a lively place, and being right in the middle of Gali 14 means we are never bored. There is always something going on outside our door, and we just fit right into the neighborhood.
