My Shop The Gift Junction

If you're walking around Bhagat Singh Market in the Gole Market area, you’ll probably see us at number 48. The sign says My Shop The Gift Junction. It’s a small space, but we pack it full of things. We mostly get people who are working in the nearby offices stopping by during their lunch break. They usually need a quick gift for a colleague or something to take home for their kids. We keep a lot of clocks, frames, and some stationery items too. The layout is a bit tight, so you have to be careful not to knock things over with your bag when you turn around. I’ve been thinking about painting the walls a different color, but haven't found the time or the energy yet. It’s a bit dusty because of the construction work that was happening down the street last month. We have a small fan that makes a bit of noise but it keeps the place cool enough in the summer heat. Usually, I’m the one behind the counter, though my younger brother sits here sometimes in the evenings when I have to go out. We get the newspaper delivered every morning and usually finish reading it by noon if there aren't too many customers. It’s a quiet life mostly. We don't have those fancy scanners, so we just write everything down in a paper ledger. People seem to like that it’s old-fashioned. Gole Market is a nice area to be in, even if the parking is usually a nightmare.
